While this is a first annual event, our organizers have a combined 75+ years in event promoting and marketing. Many first year events fail because the organizers are afraid to invest the money it takes to pull off a successful event. We are committed to making this event the biggest annual outdoor & sportsman's expo in the Allegheny region and our partnership with the Altoona Curve will bring a lot of exposure to vendors, sponsors, and event attendees.
Based on past events at PNG Field, we expect an attendance of 3000-5000 outdoor enthusiasts. We are passing out 1000+ rubber ducks and bucks with invitations to Jeep and Bronco owners all over western and central Pennsylvania inviting them to the show. In addition, vendors will receive free tickets they can sell to recuperate some of the booth costs. We want all of our vendors to come back next year so we are sparing no expense at promoting our event so that you can make money.
We have scheduled a variety of expert presenters in all areas of outdoor adventure & sporting activities, wilderness skills, and wildlife. We have some popular presenters from all over plus local heroes and legends. All of our presenters and many of our vendors have large followings which will bring the crowd to the event. In addition to that, we have invested a lot of money into our Allegheny Fun Zone, providing activities like a petting zoo, stocked fishing pond with fishing experts on hand, golf swing instruction from a golf pro, and fun popular outdoor games like corn hole, pickleball, and kick darts. Our website activity has been very high and we are hearing a lot of buzz in the local community about our event. We expect to sell out and this year's vendors and sponsors will have the opportunity to renew their contracts with the event into 2026 so don't miss out on this well-organized, growth-minded expo that has high public and high vendor interest.
We are doing Eventbrite email marketing and will be promoting the event on Visitpa.com as well as paid advertising in Mother Earth News Fair, Grit, and Countryside. Subscribers to Visitpa.com, Mother Earth News Fair, Grit, and Countryside are largely outdoor enthusiasts but they also are event goers. In addition, the Altoona Curve will be promoting the event on TV, radio, and to their large and dedicated fan base. Our listing also appears on other event listing sites and on https://www.huntingfishingandoutdoorshows.com/

Yes, this is a first-year event for what is planned to be a permanent annual event. Every outdoor show had to start somewhere, and we intend to grow this show to be the biggest fall outdoor show in Pennsylvania. This year, some of the established outdoor shows in Pennsylvania seemed to eliminate activities that make outdoor shows so fun for the crowd, which is what happened to our town's long-running local outdoor show recently and we see how that turned out. We are heavily investing in paid advertising and we are spending a lot of money on activities that will draw a crowd, because the crowd is who purchases products and services from the vendors and sponsors. We know vending at a first-year event can be hit and miss, but that is usually because many first-year events don't have the budget to advertise or to get the paid attractions to boost ticket sales so vendors don't do so great while the show organizer took their booth money and slapped the event on Facebook for free. We are investing a lot of time and money to organize this event and public interest is very high. That being said, first-year vendors will have the opportunity to reserve their booths for next year so take the plunge with us or you may end up on an indefinite waiting list for next year.
Wild Alleghenies Outdoor Adventure & Sportsman's Expo is a new annual outdoor show in the Allegheny region held in partnership with the Altoona Curve at People's Natural Gas Stadium. Wild Alleghenies Outdoor Adventure & Sportsman's Expo is the hunting, fishing, shooting, archery, golf, camping, boating, caving, tennis, skiing, snowboarding, off-roading, foraging, bushcraft, hiking, backpacking, RV-ing, gardening, wildlife, nature, and everything outdoor-related event. Get outdoors, get active, explore your passions, learn a new skill and most importantly, have some fun! Wild Alleghenies is set to be the biggest annual one-day outdoor show in Central Pennsylvania and the only fall outdoor show of its kind in Pennsylvania.
We have a lot of activities planned for outdoor enthusiasts, outdoor sports lovers, and nature lovers, including ask-the-expert sessions, wildlife encounters, expert presenters on outdoor related subjects, hands-on activities & product demonstrations, prize giveaways and more. With over 300 outdoor related vendors, food trucks, expert seminars and hands-on demonstrations, live entertainment & appearances, the King or Queen of the Allegheny Mountains off-road vehicle show, and our fun zone for adults and kids, the Wild Alleghenies Expo has something for everyone. We could organize the event with nothing for the crowd to do, make the booth spaces super cheap, do no paid advertising, take money from the vendors and do nothing to draw a crowd, but we decided to build this into an event that puts a lot of money and time into driving up ticket sales. You can vend at one of the many cheaper events that are getting old and stale or you can invest in an event that is new and exciting and will drive traffic by the thousands.
Based on past events at PNG Field, the event partnership with Altoona Curve, past turnout for the former Jaffa Sports Show, and our advertising reach, we expect an attendance of 3000-5000 outdoor enthusiasts (this is a conservative estimate). Pre-ticket sale early registration has been strong already with minimal promotion.
No, we are not associated with the Jaffa Sports Show. That show has been permanently cancelled. After talking to vendors and attendees of prior year Sports Show at the Jaffa, we felt vendor & attendee interest declined at the former Sports Show in Altoona because of the lack of hands-on activities and expert presenters in later years. In addition, the venue for the prior sports show had its limitations. We have a great venue that provides us with plenty of inside and outside space, some great activities planned that will not only draw a crowd but draw quality vendors to drive ticket sales, and targeted advertising to draw attendees from all over Pennsylvania as well as New York, Ohio, West Virginia, Virginia and Maryland.
